About Ceilingo and customer reviews
, Invisible sound systems
For the Toulouse new homes exhibition, held from 15 to 17 February 2019, a home of the future was built entirely from technologies hidden inside the fabric. Ceilingo was able to show what it does in thermal and acoustic performance.
Two Atmos speakers were fitted in the ceiling. Each plasterboard sheet carried 100 W of sound across an emitting surface of 3 m², so 6 m² in all, which is what made the sound surround you.
What makes these speakers unusual is that they also heat and insulate.
Each heated plasterboard sheet in the ceiling carried 435 W, so 870 W in all, across roughly 35 m², which comes to 24 W per square metre.
The newspaper LA DEPÊCHE reported on it: “The exhibition offers a visual and sound experience close to that of a cinema. A screen rises from a television unit on command and disappears at will. Glass speakers, paired with a ceiling from which sound emerges, place you in a high quality audio environment. Conventional radiators are replaced by a heated ceiling, which is both practical and good to look at.”
Via Occitanie wrote: “This is the first time a smart home of this kind has been shown to the public at a property exhibition. Most of the technology is invisible to the eye, because it is built into the walls and the ceilings themselves.”
