The problem: insulating costs centimetres you do not have

In renovation the constraint is rarely technical, it is geometric. Twenty centimetres of wool under a rafter means twenty centimetres less headroom in a loft bedroom. On a wall it means a smaller room and window reveals to rebuild. Plenty of projects stop right there.

What a reflective product does that wool does not

Wool slows heat down by trapping it, and needs thickness to do so. A reflective product works differently: its aluminium face sends heat back instead of absorbing it, much like the foil blanket handed to a runner at the finish line. That matters most against summer heat, which reaches the building as radiation from the sun onto the roof. Our products are assessed under European Technical Assessment ETA 22/0178, and the figures we publish come from laboratory measurement rather than estimates.

Choosing within the range
