A room that fills and empties within an hour

A mountain restaurant goes from empty to full in a few minutes, twice a day. Thirty seated people give off a considerable thermal output, and the heating system has to step back as fast as it started.

The door that keeps opening

With each entry, part of the heated air leaves. A system that heats the air starts its work again each time, whereas a radiant emitter keeps acting on people and surfaces without being affected by the air change.

Acoustics, the room's second subject

A noisy restaurant tires customers and shortens meals. The ceiling is the only free plane in a room occupied by tables, and it allows reverberation to be treated at the same time as the heating.

The requirement for premises open to the public

A facing classified at least A2 is required in front of the insulation. The point is dealt with at design stage with the inspection body, and it governs the choice of materials before the output calculation.

The walls already taken

Banquettes, display cases, bar, decoration: a restaurant has no free wall run. Removing wall mounted emitters gives the owner back several metres of usable wall, which is an economic argument rather than an aesthetic one.

The season

In a resort, business is concentrated into a few months. A system with no seasonal servicing and no complex start-up suits that rhythm better than an installation requiring a visit at every opening.

The requirements for premises open to the public are on the dedicated page, and acoustics on the R'Acoustic 20 page.
