What a sample lets you check

The flexibility, the weight per square metre, how the product behaves when folded, the quality of the reflective surface and how it cuts. Five concrete points that no data sheet conveys and that often decide an order.

What it does not let you check

Performance. A thirty centimetre square is not measured, it is handled. Thermal values are measured in a laboratory following defined protocols, and a sample is not a test rig.

Who it serves most

The professionals who will fit the product. A fitter wants to know how the material behaves in their hands before committing it to a job, and that information is worth more than a brochure.

The hand test

Placing the sample between a heat source and the palm gives an immediate sensation. It is not a measurement, it is a demonstration of the mechanism, and it explains in three seconds what a paragraph takes a page to describe.

Comparing several references together

Receiving two or three samples from the range lets you feel the difference in thickness and flexibility between them. That is often what settles the choice between a thin version and a multilayer one.

After the sample

The documents. Test report, technical assessment, declaration of performance. The sample answers handling questions, the documents answer performance questions, and a serious project asks for both. A supplier who sends one but never provides the other deliberately leaves half the question unanswered.
