What a demonstrator makes it possible to show

An experimental home is not a display, it is a place visitors enter, stay in and judge for themselves. No brochure replaces standing under a working ceiling for ten minutes.

The visitors' first question

Where is the heating. It is the most frequent and most telling reaction: a system built into the ceiling is not visible, and that invisibility is perceived as an advantage before performance is even discussed.

The second question

How much it consumes. The honest answer depends on the insulation of the home, on the control and on habits, and a demonstrator makes it possible to say exactly that by showing the whole rather than an isolated figure.

What professionals look at

The plenum, when it is left accessible. An installer, an architect or a design office want to see the air gap, the insulation and the connection, that is, everything that disappears on the day of fitting.

The value of a collective project

A demonstrator brings together firms that never meet on an ordinary job. The interfaces between trades are dealt with beforehand, and the lessons then serve on real projects.

What it brings to the product

Feedback from use over time, in an occupied home. It is a different source of information from a laboratory test, and both are needed to make a system evolve. A laboratory says what a product can do; an occupied home says what it actually does when nobody is watching the conditions.

The home of the future is presented on the dedicated page, and the system on heated radiant stretch ceiling.
