Building a radiant ceiling to a client's requirements starts with careful design. The positions of the downlights, the ventilation and the access hatches have to be known in advance so the study can be done properly. The better the project is thought through, the easier the installation.

Making the ePan Roc heating panels

Based near Toulouse, Ceilingo has its own production unit in Pechbonnieu, in France.

With machinery built specifically for our cutting and assembly work, we can produce made-to-measure solutions that match the constraints of the site.

Once the heating panels are fitted between the furring channels, the plasterboard is placed in direct contact with the heating elements, so the heat produced by the carbon is conducted properly. Carbon does not degrade, which is what gives you decades without maintenance or servicing.

Designed first and foremost as insulation, a radiant ceiling delivers heat spread evenly, the way the sun does.

Cutting the panels

Forming the side shoulders so the panels rest on the plasterboard support profiles, which is what gives proper thermal conduction.

Preparing the cables

For an installation that lasts, and to stand behind our 25 year guarantee, each heating panel is fitted with double mechanically protected cable whose conductor is tinned copper, so corrosion is not a possibility.

Packing

The plain panels and the heating panels are packed in boxes designed to protect them in transit.

Each heating panel is numbered so it can be placed according to the layout drawing.

Assembling the heating films

The heating elements are prepared before bonding.

They are assembled to a set method, because the quality of what leaves the workshop is what the client is relying on.

Running the conduits

The heating elements are cut to size so the lighting supply runs can be pulled through.

The plasterboard is screwed to the furring channels, in contact with the heating panels.

Continuous insulation

A radiant ceiling handles both the heating and the insulation. The particular profile of the rock wool allows the insulation to run continuously across the whole ceiling, which limits both heat loss and sound transfer between floors.
