A heated ceiling built above an existing ceiling

This project, carried out in south-west France by a long-standing client, shows that a heated ceiling can perfectly well be built above an existing plasterboard ceiling.

After opening certain sections of the ceiling, access to the void allowed the heating films to go in, along with the insulation needed to reflect the far infrared the carbon produces.

Our client built himself a kind of pole to push the heating films and the rock wool panels into the furthest corners. Once the films were unrolled and covered with insulation, they had to be wired to each other, and the insulation checked for continuity across the whole ceiling.
