What a flat in shared ownership allows

The ceiling of a flat is the neighbour's floor, and therefore common property. Any solution that means drilling the slab, loading it heavily or embedding a network in it runs into the co-ownership rules before it runs into any technical limit.

Why a stretch ceiling gets through

It is fixed by a perimeter rail set on the walls, which are private property. The slab is untouched, the load is negligible, and nothing installed affects the home above.

The question of lost height

The system takes a few centimetres below the existing ceiling. That is the real trade-off in a flat, and it comes before everything else: under 2.40 m the point deserves to be measured room by room rather than estimated.

The electrical supply

Replacing existing convectors generally reuses the circuits already there. Extending the heated area, on the other hand, means checking the board and the subscribed power, which is the electrician's job before the equipment is ordered.

Working in an occupied home

The system arrives ready to fit, with no wet cutting and no sanding. That is what makes the operation feasible in an inhabited flat, where the time a room is out of use counts as much as the price.

The owners' meeting, to anticipate or not

Work limited to the private parts needs no particular authorisation. The subject becomes different if the project touches the collective supply, a shared duct or a through penetration, and that sorting is done before the quotation rather than after.

The expected consumption is set out on the dedicated page, and the system on heated radiant stretch ceiling.
