Improving the acoustics of a room without losing space, with R'Acoustic 20

The problem twenty millimetres solve

Treating the acoustics of a room normally calls for a lining on a framework, eight to twelve centimetres taken from every surface treated. In a twelve square metre room that amounts to losing more than one of them. That is why so many noisy rooms stay noisy.

What the product treats

R'Acoustic 20 is a high density textile complex, twenty millimetres thick. It absorbs particular frequencies, limits how far sound travels within the structure, and reduces what passes to the neighbouring rooms. It goes on floors, walls and ceilings, which allows all three planes of a room to be treated without changing its proportions.

What it does not treat

Twenty millimetres do not remove structural impact noise transmitted through the slab, nor an airtightness defect around a door. Both belong to something else, and it is better to know that before ordering than to conclude afterwards that the product does not work.

The installation that changes the result

The product performs best within a decoupled framework, metal or timber, where it is not compressed. Bonded directly it still works, with a lower return: that is a compromise chosen when every millimetre counts.

The rooms where it earns its place

A home office, a bedroom facing the street, a restaurant where nobody can hear anyone, a room given over to music or to film. What they share: a real nuisance, and no possibility of giving up volume.

The ten millimetre version is presented on the R'Acoustic 10 page, and a real case on the private cinema room page.
