Three trades that never speak to each other

The dryliner, the electrician and the ceiling fitter work on the same ceiling, a few weeks apart, and rarely meet. Most of the difficulties on a job arise precisely at those three interfaces.

From dryliner to ceiling fitter

What counts is the flatness of the substrate, the position of the fixings and the state of the corners. A dryliner who knows what comes next settles those three points with no extra effort, and saves half a day for whoever follows.

From electrician to ceiling fitter

Position of the light points, cable sizes, location of the thermostat. Those decisions are taken before fitting and not after, and an informed electrician deals with them in one visit instead of two.

Back to the electrician

The final connection and the labelling of circuits. It is the only moment when the ceiling fitter depends on another trade in order to hand over, and coordination arranged beforehand avoids the wait at the end of the job.

What a meeting changes

Each leaves knowing what the other expects of them. It is a real saving of time on subsequent jobs, and it requires no training, only an occasion to talk.

What gets settled on the spot

The questions nobody asks over the phone. One tradesperson sets out a specific case, another has met it before, and the answer travels in three minutes where it would have taken three weeks. It is the least measurable benefit of such a day, and probably the most lasting.

Training is presented on the training programme, and the network on the installer page.
