What professionals say about R'BULL

Reading a data sheet without being impressed

An insulation data sheet lists values that cannot all be compared with one another. Knowing which describes the product alone and which describes a complete assembly avoids half the misunderstandings in the trade.

Emissivity, the value that describes the product

It measures the ability of a surface to emit radiation. The lower it is, the less the surface radiates outwards. That of R'BULL Pro 13 was measured at 0.053 following the ISO 22097:2023 method, in a laboratory.

Thermal resistance, which describes an assembly

It depends on the product but also on the air gaps present on either side. A value quoted without stating the associated assembly means nothing, and it is the first point to check on any data sheet.

Reaction to fire

It is read according to EN 13501-1. R'BULL Pro 13 is classified B-s1,d0, which covers the contribution to fire, the smoke emission and the absence of flaming droplets. The three indices are read together.

The European Technical Assessment

The product is covered by ETA 22/0178, in the BOLTHERM family. A technical assessment is not a certification: it describes and verifies declared characteristics, and that distinction is stated clearly rather than rounded off.

What no data sheet says

The quality of the fitting. A correctly characterised product badly installed gives a mediocre result, and that is the variable which explains most of the gap between stated and perceived performance.

Emissivity is developed on the dedicated page, and thermal resistance on the R of thin insulation page.
