How to turn your mirror into a heated mirror

The answer in one sentence

Yes, you can keep the mirror you have. The heating panel bonds to its back, gets wired in, and nothing changes about the look of the room. That is the whole demonstration in this sequence, and it takes a minute because there is nothing more to say.

The three measurements to take before calling

The width and height of the mirror, the thickness of the glass, and the distance between the mirror and the nearest socket or junction box. With those three figures we know immediately whether the operation is possible and which panel size suits.

The two cases where it does not work

A mirror bonded directly to the wall across its whole surface, with no space behind, cannot take a panel. A mirror whose backing is already spotted at the edges must not be heated: the heat accelerates oxidation that has already begun rather than preventing it.

What the video does not show

The waiting time between bonding and the first warm-up, and the temperature check that follows. Neither is spectacular, and yet they are what separates a heated mirror from a mirror with a fault.

To go further

The long version shows the complete operation, including peeling the silicone film and smoothing down. It is useful if you are fitting it yourself, unnecessary if we are doing it for you.

The detailed tutorial is on the Mirolia panel fitting page, and the product on the ordering page.
