Installing a Ceilingo radiant stretch ceiling

How long a job actually takes

An ordinary room is dealt with in two to four days depending on the area and the number of awkward points. It is not the fitting that takes the time but the preparation: survey, layout drawing, ordering at the right dimensions. By the day the team arrives, everything has already been decided.

The four stages, in order

Perimeter profiles and setting out. Reflective insulation with its air gaps and its return at the edges. Heating panels and connections, followed by the checks. Tensioning the fabric last. Each stage closes the previous one for good.

What sets this job apart from an ordinary stretch ceiling

A conventional stretch ceiling goes up in a day because it hides nothing. Here the plenum receives a complete system that has to be checked before closing. It is that check, and not the technical difficulty, that explains the difference in duration.

What can be seen at the end

Nothing. A tensioned fabric with no defect, downlights recessed where they were planned, and a room whose height has come down by five centimetres. It is the only heating job whose visible result is a new ceiling.

The three phases are set out on part one, part two and part three. The system is presented on the heated radiant stretch ceiling page.

What happens if the job is badly sequenced

Fabric fitted before the checks means taking it down again, which is never neutral: the profiles have been drilled, the fabric has been heated and released, and the visual result is no longer the same. That is why the order described here is not a methodological preference but a manufacturing constraint.
