Magic Switch, the invisible touchless light switch

The starting point is a gesture

An ordinary switch is touched several dozen times a day, by everyone entering the room. It is the most handled item in a home, and yet the one people think about least.

What contactless means

The control is triggered by a movement of the hand nearby, with no press and no pressure. There is therefore no longer a handled surface, which is a fact of design and not a property of the material.

What that changes for cleaning

A smooth, continuous surface that is never touched carries neither fingerprints nor accumulated grime. It is cleaned with one wipe, where a conventional mechanism holds marks in its corners and clearances.

The absence of a moving mechanism

A traditional switch wears through its rocker and its spring. A contactless control has no moving part at that point, which removes the most frequent cause of wear in this kind of device.

Integration

The control can be placed behind a facing, in a continuous plane, with no visible box. It joins the same logic as the rest of the integrated equipment: the function remains, the object disappears.

Where it counts most

High traffic premises, commercial kitchens, consulting rooms and buildings open to the public. Wherever many different hands operate the same control, no longer touching it has an obvious practical value.
